Why is the Mastery main theme of QED 2027?

This QED edition is about Mastery - stepping out of autopilot and taking the wheel. Mastery is not just perfection; it's also about agency and taking intentional control in a world shaped by accelerating technology. As AI becomes embedded in everyday work, the challenge is no longer adoption, but leadership: knowing when to rely on it, when to question it, and when to take the wheel ourselves. Mastery means actively shaping outcomes, decisions, and impact. It is a call to drive bold: to evolve from users of technology into drivers of it, combining human judgment, business understanding, and technical excellence.

Set to take place 10–12 May 2026 at the 5-star Falkensteiner Hotel & Spa Iadera in Zadar, Croatia, QED will once again bring together experts from science, philosophy, business, and technology. Through talks, workshops, and panel discussions, participants will explore how collective thinking can help navigate disruption, foster innovation, and strengthen shared resilience.

The keynote speaker at QED 2026, best-selling author and risk specialist Nassim Nicholas Taleb, is widely known for the revolutionary “Black Swan” concept — rare, unpredictable, high-impact events that redefine how we understand uncertainty. Together with other distinguished guests, Taleb will explore how to build systems that can thrive amid volatility and complexity.

As the organizers state: “The goal is not to talk about the collective intelligence of people and AI in theory, nor to simply assume it is the future. It is to show how to make it work in practice.”
