A coffee-break conversation on the hotel terrace. No slides, no demo, no pitch.
VMware licensing changed. Renewals doubled. Roadmaps shifted. And suddenly every infrastructure leader in Europe is being asked the same question by their board: what are we doing about VMware?
We have spent the last two years helping organisations answer that question and we have noticed something. The hardest part of a VMware takeout is almost never the technology. It is knowing whether you are ready to decide at all.
So we are skipping the workshop. No tables, no breakouts, no canvases. Just a coffee on the terrace and one flipchart, around five questions we wish every customer had asked themselves before they called us:
- Are you ready? – the business signals that say yes, no, or not yet.
- Do you know what you have? – the inventory truth most estates never tell.
- The stuff around VMware – backup, storage, DR, networking — and the delivery stories where those bit us hardest.
- What will it cost? – the new pricing shape, and the bundling angle most customers have not yet used.
- Your people – the part that actually decides whether the migration succeeds.
Bring an opinion. Bring a question. Bring the thing you have been afraid to ask in front of your own team. We will tell you what we have seen, what we got wrong, and what we would do again.
