Robbie Jerrom

Senior Principal Technologist AI at Red Hat

Robbie is a Snr Principal Technologist for AI at Red Hat, with over 30 years of experience spanning software engineering, pre-sales, and technical marketing. He specialises in enterprise AI adoption through open-source innovation, working across hybrid cloud environments to help organisations move from AI experimentation to production at scale.

His technical focus covers AI platforms, cloud-native technologies, and Kubernetes, with particular depth in private generative AI, open-source AI models, and the data foundations that make both viable in the enterprise. He works closely with Red Hat engineering, product, and field teams, as well as the broader open-source community, to shape solutions that are practical, scalable, and vendor-transparent.

Robbie is a regular speaker at industry events, including Red Hat Summit, where he has presented on topics including generative AI, retrieval-augmented generation, AI safety, open-source AI, and hybrid cloud strategy. He brings a practitioner’s perspective to these conversations, focused on what actually works in production, rather than what looks good on a slide.

He holds a strong conviction that open-source software, open-source AI, and open data are foundational to building AI systems that are trustworthy, auditable, and sustainable, and spends a good deal of his time making that case to the organisations he works with.
