Tim began his career in IT right after University in 2016 – To say he was surprised when he was handed a COBOL Textbook is an understatement! However, nearly 8 years later, he has developed a passion for the Mainframe, Developer Advocacy, and helping organizations get the most out of their technology.
Born and raised in the United States of America, Tim pursued a degree in Computer Information Systems at the University of Michigan – Flint. After 3 years as a mainframe software developer at a large US based insurance company, Tim found his passion as a developer advocate, helping developers be the best at their job that they can be.
What would make him leave such an amazing job, you ask? Well, when given get a job offer in Switzerland, it’s hard to say no! Now Tim is a client technical specialist at IBM Switzerland, helping customers get the most out of their mainframe platforms and helping them adopt modern development practices. It’s very safe to say that he’s now living his dream life, traveling Europe, talking to clients, and living life to the fullest.
When not talking Mainframes, Tim is hopefully on a train traveling somewhere, two of his main passions. If he’s at home, he’s probably building Legos, playing games with friends, or entertaining one of the many visitors from America who love to come visit the beautiful country.
